Pursuit of Happiness 5k

The Pursuit of Happiness 5k returns to Exeter, New Hampshire on July 11th, celebrating the 250th Anniversary of the Declaration of Independence. This inaugural race is hosted by the American Independence Center and starts and finishes in historic downtown Exeter, known as the Revolutionary Capital of New Hampshire. The route will take participants past iconic landmarks such as the Exeter Bandstand, Old Town Hall, and the site where the Declaration was first read to citizens on July 16, 1776.
Race morning finds runners gathering under the cool shade of historic trees in downtown Exeter, with a backdrop of quaint shops and buildings that have stood for centuries. The air is crisp at around 23.9 degrees Celsius, making it comfortable but not too hot or cold. Participants will pass by the Old Town Hall, a stately building dating back to 1768, and other historical sites that tell tales from America's founding era.
This event has been in the works for many years, with the American Independence Center working tirelessly to make this celebration of freedom possible. The Pursuit of Happiness 5k is expected to attract over a hundred runners who will contribute significantly to local charities focused on supporting education and community programs. Every participant not only runs in honor of our nation's birth but also helps support initiatives that enrich Exeter and its surrounding areas.
The course venue offers a mix of hard, dry surfaces suitable for all types of shoes, with slight elevation changes along the route. Notable features include the wide-open spaces near the Town House Common where runners can take in the historical significance of their surroundings as they jog past. At each mile marker, participants will find aid stations equipped to provide water and snacks.
