Purple Dash for St. Jude Kids 5K Virtual Run/Walk

The Purple Dash for St. Jude Kids Virtual 5k Run/Walk is an event to raise awareness and funds for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in honor of the FedEx Purple Eagle honorees. Purple Eagle Honorees are the child of a FedEx team member that is also a St. Jude patient.  This event is open to all Cargo Air Carriers, FAO team members, vendors, friends and family.  This is a virtual event taking place over 4 days, so you can participate from anywhere and pick a time that works for you!

Why are we doing this:  During 2020, the Covid-19 pandemic kept FedEx from the event of naming Cessna Caravan aircraft in honor of that year's Purple Eagle Honoree.  After the success of raising over $34,000 in 2020, we decided to continue on and make the Purple Dash for Kids and annual event and have now raised $210,000 in six years! 

There are two ways to raise funds through this race.  The first is the registration fees proceeds will be donated to this charity. The second is through fundraising & donations.  You have the ability to create your own fundraising site and get your friends and family to support you. 

Registration fees: Register by Sept. 15, 2026 & receive a commemorative Purple Dash for Kids Virtual 5k t-shirt!  All proceeds from the registration fees will be donated to the St. Jude general fund in honor of the Purple Eagle program.  You can still register up to the last day of the event but will not receive a t-shirt.  We encourage you to wear you race t-shirt during your run/walk and send in pictures!  New this year: children's t-shirts will only be $10, so bring the whole family along!

Submitting your race results:  This is a virtual event, so you will be submitting your results through the website.  Results will be displayed based on fastest times. In order to be considered for placement (1st, 2nd, 3rd place winners) participants must submit a picture of your favorite running/walking app or watch, Fitbit, etc. results.  See examples in the pictures area of this website.

Winners!  Yes, there will be prizes for the top performer in the following categories:

• Top individual race finishers - 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places will receive race medals
• Top individual fundraiser - $250 VISA gift card
• Top Company/Team fundraiser - The PURPLE REIGN AWARD will be given to the company that raises the most collectively (between registrations) and donations will have their name added to the Purple Reign Award as this year's winner and will have the honor or displaying this award in their home office.
