About the Event

Whether you're just starting out or are an experienced runner, the Run Around the Imperial Palace offers something for everyone. The race is designed to be incredibly relaxed and accommodating, allowing participants to join spontaneously on the day of the event without any pressure to adhere strictly to a schedule. Late arrivals are welcome too.
The course options range from one lap around 5 kilometers to four laps totaling approximately 20 kilometers. Participants have the flexibility to adjust their distance during the race if they find themselves wanting more or feeling that it's enough for them. However, organizers ask runners not to cut their races short and leave early due to fatigue—this is a day to enjoy running around one of Tokyo’s most iconic landmarks.
The event takes place on September 27, 2026, offering participants the chance to experience the serene beauty of the Imperial Palace grounds while engaging in a leisurely run. Whether you're looking for a gentle jog or aiming to push yourself further, this race provides an inclusive and welcoming atmosphere where all runners can feel comfortable.
The relaxed nature of the event also means that there's no strict adherence to time limits; participants are encouraged to take their time enjoying the scenic route around the Imperial Palace. With its historic setting and friendly vibe, it’s a perfect opportunity for anyone who has ever wanted to experience running in this iconic location.
Join us on September 27, 2026, for an unforgettable run through Tokyo's heart.
