Pocono Mountains Marathon Race Festival takes place on October 10, 2026, offering runners four race options to choose from: marathon, half marathon, 10K, and 5K. The festivities begin with the marathon and half marathon starting at 7:30 AM sharp in Greentown, Pennsylvania's picturesque Promised Land State Park. Ten minutes later, participants of the shorter distances will join the action, beginning their races at 7:45 AM for the half marathon and 10K runners, followed by a start time of 8:45 AM for those taking on the scenic 5K route. Set against the stunning backdrop of the Pocono Mountains, this race promises breathtaking views as autumn foliage reaches its peak beauty. Runners will enjoy winding through lush forests and along serene lakes, making each step an experience to remember. The event is designed with runners in mind, providing a memorable day out on the trails while celebrating the unique charm of fall. All participants receive a commemorative t-shirt, finisher's medal, and a free pair of socks upon completion. First-time half marathoners and full marathon finishers will be awarded an additional plaque to mark their achievement. The race festival is rain or shine, ensuring that no matter the weather conditions, runners can still enjoy this spectacular event. For those looking for an extra challenge, early start options are available one hour before the official start times for both half marathon and full marathon races. However, these early starts do not offer awards and participants should aim to maintain a pace of 15 minutes per mile or slower. Those who complete their race faster than two hours and fifteen minutes may encounter issues with time recording. Join us at Promised Land State Park's Upper Lake Overflow Parking Lot on October 10 for an unforgettable day filled with scenic routes, friendly competition, and the vibrant spirit of fall in the Pocono Mountains. Participants will find a welcoming atmosphere as they soak up the beauty around them while pushing their limits across diverse terrain. This event is more than just running; it's about embracing nature’s splendor and celebrating personal milestones amidst friends and fellow runners.
