ПЛУВЕН МАРАТОН „НА ВЪЛНАТА НА ПОМОРИЕ”

Pomorie Wave Marathon is set to take place on August 15, 2026, along the picturesque coastline of Pomorie, Bulgaria. This unique swimming marathon offers participants an opportunity to experience the beauty and tranquility of this historic coastal town.
To participate in the event, all residents and visitors must register online before the race day and pass a medical examination either three days prior or one hour before the start at Old Key Square in central Pomorie on August 15th from 1:00 PM. The registration process includes completing necessary declarations and providing identification details via an email confirmation after submission.
Participants will receive an electronic chip upon arrival, which must be returned when exiting the water post-race. This ensures accurate tracking of each swimmer's progress throughout the event. For those under 18 years old, parental consent is mandatory for registration.
The race course follows a straight line along the seafront in Pomorie’s southern region, offering swimmers stunning views and an enjoyable aquatic experience. Swimmers are encouraged to wear goggles as protection against jellyfish that may be present in the waters.
Race categories include distances tailored specifically for different age groups:
- 1000 meters for children up to 13 years old
- Also 1000 meters for teenagers aged between 13 and 16
- And a full distance of 2,000 meters for adults
The race begins at 4:00 PM local time with swimmers competing individually along the designated course. All participants are advised to arrive by 1:00 PM on August 15th to complete registration and medical checks.
Swimmers must adhere strictly to safety guidelines, refraining from alcohol or drug use in the preceding 24 hours before race day. They will also be required to swim independently without any external aids such as floats or assistance from others during competition. The event concludes with a mandatory briefing at 3:30 PM on the same day.
