Play Run Clinic

The Play Run Clinic is an 8-week developmental program starting Wednesday, April 1, 2026, in Kelowna, BC. Hosted by Play Kelowna, this "Learn to Run 5K" clinic is specifically designed for absolute beginners, those returning to the sport after years away, and anyone looking for a supportive group environment to reach the 5-kilometer milestone. The curriculum focuses on building confidence, fostering community relationships, and injury prevention through a balanced approach of guided sessions and structured "homework."

Participation and Logistics

Each week, participants will gather at the Play Kelowna storefront for one guided group run. To supplement the weekly meeting, runners will receive printed "homework" run schedules designed to promote steady growth and prevent common beginner injuries. The program is inclusive of all starting fitness levels—if you can walk, you are welcome to join. To ensure the safety and focus of the group, the clinic organizers ask that dogs remain at home. All participants will receive an official Play Run Clinic Shirt as part of their enrollment.

Registration and Enrollment

Online registration is open through Tuesday, March 31, 2026. Because this is a small-group clinic, spots are strictly limited; as of the latest update, 11 participants have already secured their places. The clinic is led by Connor Mitchell, who can be reached via the official race portal for any questions regarding the training schedule or gear recommendations for new runners. The program concludes just in time for late spring, leaving participants ready to tackle a local 5K event with their new running community.
