Plain Endurance Runs

Nestled within the rugged beauty of the Cascade Mountains, the Plain 100 Mile Race challenges runners to traverse some of Washington's most remote USFS trails and forest service roads. Spanning approximately 85 miles of scenic wilderness across Lake Wenatchee, Entiat, and Chelan ranger districts, this self-supported event demands a high level of endurance and autonomy. Participants will encounter nearly 21,000 feet of elevation gain and loss as they navigate through the challenging terrain.
The race begins with runners carrying all their necessary gear and food for an initial stretch before reaching the resupply point after the first 100 kilometers. Water sources along the course are limited to natural creeks and rivers, emphasizing the need for thorough preparation and self-reliance throughout this arduous journey.
Set against a backdrop of stunning mountain vistas and dense forest landscapes, the Plain Race offers an immersive experience that tests both physical limits and mental fortitude. Runners must qualify by completing either another 100-mile trail race or the Plain 100K event to ensure they are ready for this demanding challenge. All proceeds from the race go directly towards supporting local search and rescue teams as well as military veterans, making every step count toward a greater cause.
Participants should expect an unforgettable adventure through some of nature's most breathtaking scenery while pushing their boundaries in one of North America’s premier ultramarathons.
