Discover the stunning beauty of the Ullswater Valley at the Place Fell 15, a uniquely timed 15km trail race set for a 5:00 PM start on Saturday, July 18, 2026. Featuring 680m of semi-technical ascent, this tough yet highly attainable course is specifically designed as the perfect gateway into more demanding mountain running events. The route circumnavigates the base of Place Fell, keeping close to the picturesque shores of Ullswater within the UNESCO World Heritage Site. As a key part of the Helvellyn Sky Ultra weekend, this twilight race offers a vibrant atmosphere and the opportunity to share the weekend energy without the extreme elevation or scrambling demands of the longer ultras. Participants have a generous 3.5 hours to complete the course, supported by one fully-supplied feed station and manned checkpoints for safety. Every finisher receives a unique wild flower seed medal and post-race vegan soup, adding a sustainable touch to your achievement. With entries opening October 4, 2025, and available on the day, this is your chance to experience the best of the Lake District trails in a fun, fast-paced format.
