Perezluha Coaching Time Trial Series #9 (10-11-26)
About the Event
Experience the exhilaration of Florida's pristine landscapes at the upcoming Perezluha Coaching Time Trial Series, scheduled for 2026. Spanning from February to November, this series offers a diverse lineup catering to riders across all age groups and skill levels. Participants will embark on thrilling courses designed with unique features like multiple u-turns, ensuring an engaging ride through Florida's scenic routes. The main campus of Florida Polytechnic University serves as the base for these events; however, time trial starts take place off-campus at a designated parking lot near Research Way, just west of the university’s western entrance. The series kicks off on February 15 and concludes with an exciting finale in November, featuring eight distinct courses. The primary routes include an 8-mile out-and-back course (2 u-turns), a challenging 15-kilometer time trial (3 u-turns), and a special edition 8.5-mile route that provides a perfect setting for testing your power. Registration opens at 7:15 AM, with warm-up sessions starting promptly at 8:10 AM led by experienced coaches who will offer valuable insights into the course layout, safety guidelines, pacing strategies, and wind conditions to help you perform optimally. Races begin at 9:00 AM for Wave 1, featuring categories such as 15-kilometer racers, handcycles, paracycles, juniors, women’s road bikes (Merckx style), men’s road bikes (Merckx style), and two-person team time trial bikes. Wave 2 commences at 10:00 AM with women's and men's TT bikes, recumbents, tandem teams, and fixed gear riders. Post-race festivities include awards ceremonies for the top three finishers in each category followed by a group ride ranging from 30 to 50 miles. For those competing across all ten time trials, overall series points are awarded based on your best eight results, with medals given out for first through eighth place and trophies for champions. Equipment regulations ensure fairness; riders must declare whether they will compete in the Merckx style or traditional road bike categories at registration to avoid misclassification. Valid equipment options include Zipp 404 wheels but exclude aero wheels deeper than 60mm, disc wheels, and aerodynamic helmets. Join us for an unforgettable experience that combines competitive racing with scenic Florida landscapes, where every turn offers new challenges and opportunities to showcase your skills on the bike.
