About the Event

The PEAKS Round 20 returns to the heart of Izu Peninsula after a six-year hiatus, presenting cyclists with an exceptionally challenging course covering 154 kilometers and featuring an elevation gain of 4,524 meters. This event is known for its relentless terrain that includes three significant climbs and descents along Route 414, which runs north to south through the central part of Izu before heading west towards the coast.
Despite being one of the shorter distances in The PEAKS series, this round offers a perfect entry point for first-time participants looking to tackle some serious hill climbing. Riders will face steep ascents and descents that test both their physical endurance and technical skills on the demanding roads of Izu's rugged landscape.
The event is designed as an independent ride where riders are fully responsible for themselves throughout the course. There are no route markers or staff providing guidance, making navigation a crucial aspect of completing this challenging race successfully. Cyclists must be prepared to handle any issues that arise independently and should understand these conditions before signing up for The PEAKS.
