Panther Claw 1776

Join Delta Peaks Running Company for the second annual Panther Claw 1776 on July 3, 2027. This patriotic trail run celebrates American independence and community spirit with three distinct loops: Red Loop, White Loop, and Blue Loop. Each loop starts and ends at a central aid station, allowing runners to choose their own path through the scenic trails of Panther Creek State Park.
The course offers nearly all singletrack routes, blending smooth mountain bike paths with rocky sections, dense forests, and stunning views over Cherokee Lake. The terrain includes flat stretches, rolling hills, and steep climbs designed to keep you engaged throughout your run. With a total distance of 17.76 miles, the Panther Claw is an adventure through varied landscapes that showcase the beauty of nature.
For those who prefer shorter distances, teams can sign up for the relay race where each member runs one loop, approximately six miles long. This event emphasizes camaraderie and fun on the trails with friends throughout a beautiful summer day.
Race day starts at 8:30 AM EST in Panther Creek State Park’s Lower Field. Each of the three loops features an aid station stocked with water, electrolyte drinks, soda options like Coke and Sprite, unique items such as pickle juice and pancakes, bacon, and snacks to keep you fueled. Runners must complete all three loops by 2:00 PM EST for a total cutoff time of five and a half hours.
All participants receive a race t-shirt and finisher medal upon completion; however, late registrations after June 15th are not guaranteed these items due to ordering deadlines. Refunds, transfers, or deferrals are unavailable, so plan accordingly.
