Outrun Hunger

Join us on November 7, 2026, for the third annual Outrun Hunger 5K Fun Run/Walk at Hillsborough County Fairgrounds. This inspiring event is organized by the Hillsborough County Farm Bureau and aims to kick off Farm City Week while supporting United Food Bank and Services in Plant City.
Participants will experience a vibrant atmosphere as they run or walk through the fairgrounds, surrounded by fellow supporters who are committed to tackling food insecurity within their community. The race route highlights Florida's rich agricultural heritage, offering runners an opportunity to appreciate the local farming industry up close.
As you cross the finish line, enjoy fresh samples of top Florida commodities such as milk, strawberries, and beef, provided by Fresh from Florida. This event not only promotes physical activity but also serves as a platform for education about agriculture’s role in ensuring food security and its impact on daily lives.
Whether you’re an avid runner or a casual walker, all skill levels are welcome to join this community-wide movement toward hunger eradication. Throughout the day, experts will be available to discuss farming practices and their significance within our local food systems, fostering greater understanding between rural farms and urban consumers.
In addition to supporting United Food Bank and Services’ mission of eradicating hunger and promoting agriculture education through Hillsborough County Farm Bureau’s initiatives, participants can look forward to receiving a race t-shirt, finisher medal, entry ticket to the 2026 Hillsborough County Fair, refreshments, and free race photos courtesy of Berry Sweet Memories.
Registration fees vary depending on when you sign up; early bird rates are available until October 14th. On-site registration is also possible but at a higher cost. The event schedule includes awards for top male and female finishers as well as age group winners in various categories, adding an extra layer of excitement to the day.
