Orange Shirt Day Run/Walk Calgary

On September 30th, join runners and walkers alike for the inaugural Run/Walk to honor Indigenous children who did not survive Canada’s Residential School era. This poignant event aims to raise funds for Orangeshirtday.org and support local grassroots movements that promote healing and justice for survivors.
The race begins at North Glenmore Park and takes you through a scenic route along the Glenmore Reservoir and Weaselhead Flats, offering participants breathtaking views of natural beauty while commemorating lost lives. The course is a mix of pavement and gravel paths, making it accessible to runners and walkers alike.
Participants can choose from three distance options: 5 km and 10 km runs for adults, and a shorter 2.15 km Elder/Kids route designed specifically for those who wish to participate in solidarity with the younger generation or elderly community members. Each participant will be part of an event that celebrates resilience and raises awareness about the ongoing impact of residential schools on Indigenous communities.
