About the Event

Sunset over the Pacific. Ala Moana Beach Park. Opal's Walk for Freedom comes to Honolulu, Hawaii, on Friday, June 19, 2026. Site opens at 5:00 PM. Walk begins at 6:00 PM. A 2.5‑mile walk celebrating Juneteenth and honoring Ms. Opal Lee — the "Grandmother of Juneteenth." Due to recent storms, registration this year is free for kamaʻāina (Hawaii residents) in support of the islands. Free for all youth 18 and under as well.
