#onemileatatime 24 Hour Challenge

One mile. 15 minutes. Repeat. The #onemileatatime 12 Hour Challenge returns to Columbus, Georgia, on Saturday, June 20, 2026, at Oxbow Meadows. New format: 12 hours instead of 24. Maximum 50 miles (one lap per 15 minutes for the first 10 hours, then decreasing cutoffs). The only supplies provided are water and electrolytes — bring your own food, gear, and crew. Prize money for top male and female: $250 each if 75 runners, $500 each if 100 runners, $1,000 each if 125+ runners. Inspired by Jerome Scales, who lost his battle to cancer and often used the hashtag #onemileatatime.

Race Format — Backyard‑Style, But Different:

• You have exactly 15 minutes to complete one 1‑mile paved loop
• Once you finish, you must wait at the start line corral until the next bell
• If you are not in the corral when the bell rings, you are out
• This continues for the first 10 hours (40 miles)
• After 40 miles, cutoff times decrease every other lap (see schedule below)
• The final lap (mile 50) is a "fastest lap wins" shootout — regardless of how many runners remain

Decreasing Cutoffs — Final 2 Hours (Last 10 Miles):

• Lap 41 (5:00 PM) — 14 minutes
• Lap 42 (5:14 PM) — 14 minutes
• Lap 43 (5:28 PM) — 13 minutes
• Lap 44 (5:41 PM) — 13 minutes
• Lap 45 (5:54 PM) — 12 minutes
• Lap 46 (6:06 PM) — 12 minutes
• Lap 47 (6:18 PM) — 11 minutes
• Lap 48 (6:29 PM) — 11 minutes
• Lap 49 (6:40 PM) — 10 minutes
• Lap 50 (6:50 PM) — Fastest lap wins

Prize Money (Top Male & Female Finishers):

• 75 runners — $250 each
• 100 runners — $500 each
• 125 runners — $1,000 each
• Based on total registration numbers — invite your friends to increase the pot!

What's Included:

• Timing (manual or chip? check with RD — likely manual lap counting)
• Water and electrolytes at the main aid station
• That's it. Bring your own food, supplies, tent, chairs, cooler, and crew.
• No finisher medal guaranteed — check with RD (the prize money is the incentive)

• Oxbow Meadows is an environmental learning center on the banks of the Chattahoochee River
• Paved 1‑mile loop — flat, fast, spectator‑friendly
• Plenty of space to set up your own tent and aid station

• Jerome Scales was a friend of Revolution Running who lost his battle to cancer
• He often used the hashtag #onemileatatime to encourage persistence and patience
• This race honors his memory by breaking a big challenge into small, manageable pieces

Logistics:

• Packet pickup: race morning at Oxbow Meadows (check event website for exact times)
• Parking available on site
• Set up your own tent, canopy, chairs, and cooler anywhere along the loop
• Crew allowed — they can hand you food, drink, and encouragement each lap
• No dogs allowed (check with RD — probably not)
• Strollers not recommended (this is a competitive race format)

Refund Policy:

• 100% refund available until 3 months before race date (March 20, 2026)
• After that, no refunds
