On October 3, 2026, the One City and Mountain Large-scale Urban Hiking League will kick off its inaugural competition at Longxugou Village in Muzhajie Town of Neixian County, Guang'an, Sichuan Province. This event features three distinct categories designed to cater to various levels of experience: a 5KM Experience Group, a 12KM Advanced Group, and the challenging 21KM Elite Group.
The Challenge Course (21KM) offers runners an exhilarating journey through rugged terrain with stunning views along the way. The route starts and finishes at Chuanxin Cave, covering an actual distance of 21.7 kilometers and ascending a cumulative elevation gain of 1098 meters. Participants will set off on October 3rd at 9:00 AM, aiming to complete within six hours by the 3 PM deadline.
The Advanced Course (12KM) provides runners with an intermediate challenge across varied landscapes. This course also begins and ends at Chuanxin Cave but stretches over a total distance of 13.2 kilometers and climbs up 689 meters in elevation gain. Competitors will start their journey on October 3rd at the same time as the Challenge Group, aiming to finish within four hours thirty minutes.
For those looking for an introduction or a more leisurely experience, the Experience Course (5KM) offers scenic views from Lazy Cliff Coffeehouse. The route covers approximately 4.3 kilometers and ascends a cumulative elevation of 272 meters. This group will begin their race on October 4th at 9:00 AM with a two-hour time limit to complete.
Each category promises unique challenges, breathtaking scenery, and opportunities for runners to test their limits against the diverse landscapes of Sichuan's natural beauty. Participants must pre-register as spaces are limited and allocated on a first-come-first-served basis until full capacity is reached.
This event is set in the picturesque surroundings of Longxugou Village, providing an ideal backdrop for both seasoned athletes and newcomers to enjoy nature while pushing their physical boundaries.
