Journey through the stark beauty and rich history of California's largest state park at the Old West Trail Runs, March 14, 2026. This ninth-annual event offers a 50k, marathon, and half marathon on the picturesque trails of Anza-Borrego Desert State Park, following paths steeped in the lore of the Great Overland Stage Route of 1849. The unique start/finish at the Stagecoach Trails RV Resort allows runners and their families to make a weekend of it, with full hook-ups and showers available.
Organized by Second Wind Trail Running, the races provide a classic desert running experience with sweeping vistas, rugged terrain, and a true sense of adventure. Be sure to register early to secure your preferred shirt size, as orders are placed well in advance. Choose your distance for a spring Saturday where the spirit of the Old West meets the challenge of modern trail running under the vast desert sky.
