Nut Roll

About the Event

The 22nd Annual Nut Roll in Albany, Georgia, United States, returns on Saturday, September 12th, 2026. This event is a beloved cycling tradition for the Southwest region and beyond.
Race morning finds cyclists gathering at the picturesque Southside Park, just off River Street in downtown Albany. The atmosphere is warm and inviting with vendors setting up their stalls offering refreshments and last-minute gear checks. The gentle hum of conversation fills the air as participants prepare to embark on a scenic journey through some of Southwest Georgia's most beautiful back roads.
For 25 years, this event has been a cornerstone in local cycling circles, growing steadily each year to include cyclists from all skill levels. With over 300 participants expected, the Nut Roll supports Bicycle Advocacy in Albany and its surrounding areas. This race brings together not only seasoned riders but also families and newcomers eager to experience the camaraderie and scenery of Southwest Georgia.
---
The course venue is marked by a variety of distances: the signature Century route at 100 miles, the Metric Century at 63 miles, the Half Metric Century covering 34 miles, and the Quarter Metric Century for 17 miles. Each distance offers its unique challenge but ensures that every participant finds their perfect ride.
The start and finish are located conveniently back at Southside Park where cyclists will find fully stocked rest stops offering water, snacks, and medical assistance. The course layout is mostly flat with a few gentle rollers providing just enough of a challenge to keep the adrenaline flowing. Elevation changes are minimal, making this event suitable for riders of all levels.
Weather conditions on race day can vary slightly but generally feel mild at around 25°C with light wind speeds and moderate humidity. Participants should expect some sunshine throughout the day, though there is always a small chance of light rain, so bringing a jacket or waterproof gear might be wise. The UV index is rated as moderate, advising all participants to apply sunscreen.
