NIMRA Run For Rescue Trail Race

The NIMRA Run for Rescue Trail Race, scheduled for November 21, 2026, at Donard Park, offers runners an exhilarating trail experience before winter training begins. The approximately 11km course winds through rugged terrain and is clearly marked with marshals along the way to ensure a safe and enjoyable run.
Organized by NIMRA (Northern Ireland Mountain Running Association), this event supports the dedicated volunteers of Mourne Mountain Rescue, who rely on voluntary donations from participants to continue their invaluable work in mountain rescue. The race not only challenges runners but also raises awareness about safety and education for those venturing into the hills.
Post-race festivities include the NIMRA 2026 Championship and League Prize Giving ceremony at around 12:30, celebrating top performers with awards and spot prizes. This event is a testament to community spirit and the commitment of local rescue teams who protect outdoor enthusiasts in the Mourne Mountains and beyond.
Participants will enjoy scenic views and challenging terrain as they support an essential service that keeps everyone safe while exploring Ireland's stunning outdoors.
