NEPA Velo Pennsylvania Time Trial State Championship p/b Discover NEPA
About the Event
The NEPA VELO Time Trial Pennsylvania State Championships, set to take place on Sunday, August 23rd, 2026, promises an exhilarating race experience for cyclists from across the state and beyond. The event will commence with the first rider setting off at 10:00 AM, with individual starts every 30 seconds ensuring a smooth flow of competitors. The course begins on Elmhurst Boulevard, eastward from its intersection with December Drive. Cyclists will follow this route until just before Blue Shutters Road and then complete a U-turn to head back towards the start/finish area. The race concludes by making another U-turn prior to re-entering the start/finish zone for their second loop. Participants are advised to arrive early to avoid congestion around the course, with ample street parking available nearby. Registration and bathroom facilities will be located at Oakmont Park across from 108 Debbie Drive in Scranton, PA. Marshals will manage traffic flow throughout the event on Elmhurst Boulevard, ensuring a safe environment for all participants. While the road is not fully closed, non-local traffic may need to take alternative routes as directed by marshals and volunteers positioned at key intersections such as December Drive and September Drive. This championship offers state titles in various categories including Men's 1 and 2, 3, 4, and masters events; Women's 1 and 2, 3, 4, and masters categories; and junior classes. Category 5/novice riders will not be eligible for state championships or receive medals but are welcome to participate alongside triathletes.
