The 44th edition of this most affordable walk/run in the 4-State area, the Dogwood Run 5K has been held annually in Neosho, Missouri since Eldon Morgan, a Neosho native and late Joplin RoadRunner, first hosted it in 1983.
This race's only intention is to see you and your family walk or run and enjoy the famous, blooming Neosho Dogwoods on your way!
Instead of medals, the first 100 finishers will receive a dogwood sapling!
In addition, we will have awards for age group winners as well as the Delynn Kuhn Lifetime Achievement Award for the fastest older runner. Top male and female receive a large dogwood sapling. Special event T-shirt is optional.
Course outline:
Clockwise loop with start and finish at Big Spring Park in Neosho, MO. The course takes you through the most beautiful, rolling streets with the dogwoods and redbuds in full bloom. Bring your camera!
Not interested in running, setting a 5K time, any of the race awards or dogwood trees? You just like the event shirt and have a relaxed, leisurely walk around Neosho's dogwood streets? Simply sign up for the Walk & Shirt option.
Proceeds from this event help provide the seed money for Joplin RoadRunners' multiple charity runs in the Joplin-Carthage-Neosho area. All participants will also be invited with a free entry in our annual Prediction Walk/Run 5K on Joplin's Tin Cup trail, in August.
For this Dogwood Run/Walk, Joplin RoadRunners keep the cost low so you can bring the whole family without breaking the bank.
Come join us for this 44th annual dogwood walking/running tour of the city! Bring your dog, your cat, your stroller, your walker if you must. Just come enjoy the day and our beautiful dogwoods in full bloom!!

Neosho is a sizeable town in Southwest Missouri and has several monikers, among them "Gateway To The Ozarks," "City of Springs," and "Flower Box City". The latter two pertain to characteristics of the town, namely the source of numerous springs as well as a citywide initiative involving flower boxes. The name Neosho is derived from a Native American word meaning "clear, cold water".
