National Tax Day 5k & 10k

The National Tax Day 5k & 10k is scheduled for Wednesday, April 15, 2026, in Fairfax Station, VA. Designed as a mid-week stress reliever to "blow off steam" from the tax season deadline, this evening race takes place on a newer, fully paved course at Burke Lake. The event offers a unique twist on race swag, providing participants with themed socks instead of the traditional race shirt.

The event is hosted at 7315 Ox Road, utilizing the paved pathways of Burke Lake Park. With a 6:00 PM start time, it provides a convenient outdoor outlet for the local community immediately following the tax filing deadline. The paved nature of the course ensures a reliable surface for runners and walkers of all levels. For those unable to attend the physical event in Virginia, virtual options are available, with tiers offering either a basic participation entry or one that includes a finisher's medal. Volunteers are also encouraged to sign up to assist with race-day operations and course management.

Registration and Fees

Registration is currently open with the most favorable rates available through March 30, 2026. A price increase will occur on March 31st, with final "Race Day" pricing taking effect on April 15th for last-minute entries. Current pricing for the 10K is $49.64 and the 5K is $33.63 (all fees included). Virtual registration ranges from $12.28 to $20.82 depending on the inclusion of a medal.
