N2- End to End Portugal Challenge 2027

Cycle Against Suicide’s N2 Portugal Challenge is an inspiring journey that traverses the scenic landscapes of Portugal from May 30th to June 4th, 2027. Cyclists will pedal over 862 kilometers and climb nearly 9,255 meters in elevation during this six-day event, raising crucial funds for mental health awareness initiatives across Ireland.
Starting in Porto on the morning of May 29th, participants embark on a route that takes them through historic towns and picturesque countryside. The first leg from Chaves to Lamego covers 100 kilometers with an ascent of nearly two thousand meters, setting the tone for the challenging yet rewarding days ahead. Cyclists will continue their journey eastward, passing through Aguieira and Pedrogão before heading south towards Alentejo.
Each day offers a unique blend of terrain, from rolling hills to flat stretches along Portugal’s stunning coastlines. By June 4th, participants arrive in Faro after cycling over 163 kilometers on the fifth day, marking one of the longest stages that includes climbs and descents across varied landscapes. The final stretch sees riders cover another 147 kilometers from Vila Gale to Faro.
Beyond the physical challenge, this event fosters a supportive community dedicated to reducing stigma around mental health issues and promoting open conversations about well-being in schools, workplaces, and communities nationwide.
