Mystery Hunt Rogaining Shizuoka (謎解きロゲイニング静岡)

Puzzlers and adventure seekers, mark your calendars for an intellectually stimulating challenge unlike any other: the Shizuoka Mystery Hunt. Set to take place on September 23, 2026, this unique blend of orienteering and puzzle-solving will transport you through the heart of Japan's vibrant city of Shizuoka.
The event returns after a year-long hiatus, inviting participants back to explore the historic streets around Shizuoka Station. This central location offers an ideal setting for deciphering clues and unraveling mysteries that are deeply embedded within its cultural landmarks, including the iconic Sengen Castle.
Competitors will face 50 distinct puzzles scattered across various points in the city. Each clue must be solved on-site to earn valuable points. There's no need to worry about carrying a camera roll of evidence; simply solving each puzzle is all that’s required for point scoring. However, prepare yourself for moments of frustration and confusion as you navigate through intricate riddles designed to challenge even the most seasoned puzzlers.
The competition spans five hours, giving participants ample time to strategize and tackle these brain-teasers at their own pace. Whether you're a puzzle enthusiast looking to sharpen your skills or someone who has grown tired of conventional orienteering events, this experience offers an unparalleled blend of mental acuity and physical exploration.
For those new to the game, previous puzzles and practice questions are available on the event's Facebook page to help prepare for the day. Additionally, participants can attend a crossword puzzle challenge in Shizuoka on September 22 as a warm-up exercise before diving into the main event. For those who enter both events, a special cash-back offer of ¥500 per person awaits at the finish line.
Join us this fall and immerse yourself in an unforgettable day filled with mystery, history, and camaraderie.
Get ready to uncover secrets hidden within Shizuoka's rich tapestry of culture and architecture. See you there!
