My Fastest Mile invites runners of all levels to challenge their limits on an exhilarating downhill course through Sidney, NY. This one-mile race offers a unique opportunity for both seasoned athletes and casual participants to achieve personal bests while enjoying the vibrant atmosphere.
The race takes place along West Main Street, where gravity works in your favor as you speed down the hill towards the finish line. The course is meticulously measured with a calibrated distance wheel, ensuring accuracy for all competitors aiming to break their records. Professional timing systems will track every runner's progress throughout the event.
Competitors can choose from different divisions tailored to various skill levels:
- Elite Division: For those looking to secure top-tier prize money and compete at an elite level.
- Open Division: Open to runners of any age or experience, encouraging everyone to take part in this high-energy race.
- Kids Fun Run: A special event for young athletes just starting their running journey.
Registration opens early on the day with packet pick-up available from 9:00 AM until 10:30 AM. Transport is provided via Sidney school buses that shuttle runners up to the start line at the top of the hill, ensuring a seamless transition into race mode. All participants receive a T-shirt upon arrival.
Elite Division competitors can earn significant prize money:
- Men & Women:
- 1st Place: $500
- 2nd Place: $250
- 3rd Place: $100
Age group awards are also available for the Open and Kids Fun Run divisions, with all participants receiving a prize at the finish line.
The race day schedule includes:
- 9:00 AM – 10:30 AM: Registration & packet pick-up
- 11:00 AM: Kids Fun Run
- 11:30 AM: Open Division Race Start
- 12:00 PM: Elite Division Race Start
Participants are assigned to small waves departing every five minutes, with final wave assignments given during the registration process. Parking is provided at the finish area near Steiner Road and Sidney Plaza.
After crossing the finish line, runners can join in a downtown celebration complete with food trucks, local vendors, live music, and more. This festive environment offers an ideal setting to unwind and celebrate personal achievements or simply soak up the fall ambiance.
