Mozo Double Up

Nestled within the rugged terrain of Vermont's Northeast, this 11-mile race is an exhilarating journey through some of the most challenging trails in the region. The course begins at Stowe Mountain Resort and ascends up Mount Mansfield via the Haselton Trail, weaving through various spur trails before descending into Underhill on the opposite side.
The ascent to Mozo (Mount Mansfield) presents a steep climb with approximately 5,000 feet of elevation gain. This section demands strength and endurance as runners navigate rocky paths and switchbacks that test their resolve. After reaching the summit, there's a brief respite along more forgiving terrain before the challenge resumes on the Sunset Ridge Trail.
The latter half of the race sees participants transitioning to rugged spur trails, leading them toward the final descent down the Stowe side via Rimrock and Perry Merrill Trails. This section requires runners to be adept at navigating steep descents with confidence and control. The course is designed for experienced mountain runners who are comfortable tackling relentless climbs and technical terrain.
With a limit of just 70 participants, this race emphasizes trail preservation by requiring all competitors to remain on designated paths throughout the event.
