Move Against Hunger

The Move Against Hunger returns to Naples, Florida on July 18th through the 25th, bringing together runners, walkers, cyclists, swimmers, and paddle enthusiasts for a week-long virtual challenge dedicated to feeding hungry children in Haiti. This year marks the seventh annual event, which aims to raise $50,000 to provide nearly 5,000 meals per month on La Gonave Island, an area facing IPC Phase 4 Emergency levels of food insecurity.
Nestled along Florida's Gulf Coast, Naples offers a vibrant backdrop for this meaningful endeavor. The city’s lush parks and winding canals offer serene spots to train or raise funds while the sun sets into the horizon with a warm glow that characterizes late summer in South Florida. Participants are encouraged to choose their own method of movement—whether it be running through local streets, cycling along scenic trails, swimming at Naples Pier, or paddling on the coast—to contribute to this vital cause.
Since its inception seven years ago, Move Against Hunger has grown from a modest event into an integral part of Naples’ community calendar. Each year, hundreds of individuals and teams come together not just for personal achievement but to make a tangible difference in the lives of children who face severe food shortages daily. This annual race supports orphaned and vulnerable youth on La Gonave Island by raising funds through individual entries and team challenges. For just $35, participants can ensure that one child receives meals every day throughout an entire month.
The Move Against Hunger offers a 7th Annual event option with a distance of 3.1 miles (5K run), providing runners and walkers the opportunity to engage in meaningful exercise while raising funds for those less fortunate. Participants are free to choose their own pace and method, ensuring flexibility across different fitness levels and schedules.

For bib pickup, participants must visit Naples Community Park between June 26th and July 7th from 9 AM to 8 PM daily, where they will receive their race materials along with instructions for the virtual event setup. Please bring a valid photo ID and confirmation of registration upon arrival at the park’s main pavilion.
The start location is conveniently located in Naples Community Park on Pine Ridge Road, open to runners aged twelve years or older who are ready to embark on this impactful journey.
