Morning Star's Run for Shelter 5K

On Saturday, October 24, 2026, join Morning Star Christian Fellowship for the sixth annual 5K run/walk aimed at supporting local homeless shelters and Transformation Life Center (TLC). This community-driven race offers a scenic route through Kingston's vibrant neighborhoods between East Chester and Foxhall Streets. Participants will navigate varied terrain as they wind along both sides of Clifton Avenue, which serves as the backbone of the course, featuring rolling hills that challenge runners while providing breathtaking views.
The run/walk also takes participants twice through Hutton Park, adding a touch of natural beauty to the journey with its lush greenery and serene atmosphere. The route offers an additional highlight: a panoramic view of the Catskills, making this event not just about physical endurance but also a celebration of local scenery.
Early registrants can secure one of the first 100 t-shirts available on a first-come, first-served basis for $25 (adults) or $15 (youth). Race day registration is possible from 8:00 to 8:45 am at no extra cost. For those unable to attend in person but still wish to contribute, there's also an option to participate virtually by running any distance between October 17 and 24, with times submitted via email.
The event promises more than just a run; it includes special awards and prizes for all participants who cross the finish line. The race starts and finishes at Morning Star building on East Chester Street (formerly Good Shepherd School), offering a sense of community and support from start to finish.
