On September 20th, cyclists are invited to experience the breathtaking beauty and challenging terrain of the Moore Creek Grasshopper, nestled within St. Helena's stunning Napa Valley. This XC MTB race takes riders on an unforgettable journey through iconic trails at Pacific Union College in Angwin, weaving its way through picturesque vineyards before ascending into a labyrinthine network of singletrack. The 35-mile route combines the established world-class paths of Moore Creek Park and Lake Hennessey with newly constructed tracks by Redwood Trails Alliance. This dynamic course offers twists, turns, and elevation changes that cater to both skilled mountain bikers and those who prefer gravel bikes for a smoother ride. Participants will find themselves immersed in nature’s splendor as they navigate through lush forests and open landscapes. Three fully stocked feed zones along the route ensure riders can fuel up without missing a beat, while clear course markings guide them every step of the way. The day culminates with a well-deserved lunch and refreshments at Wappo Park, offering an opportunity to reflect on the journey and connect with fellow cyclists in a relaxed setting. Beyond the thrill of competition and exploration, this event supports Redwood Trails Alliance’s mission to expand trail access and connectivity across Sonoma, Napa, and Lake counties. By participating, riders contribute directly to efforts that enhance safety standards, train new volunteer leaders, support professional trail builders, and foster community engagement around shared outdoor spaces. Join us for an experience where every pedal stroke tells a story of dedication to preserving our natural heritage and building trails for future generations. The event promises not only a thrilling ride but also the satisfaction of contributing to sustainable trail development in one of California’s most scenic regions.
