About the Event

Confront the ultimate test of resilience at the Montane Winter Spine Race, beginning at 08:00 on Sunday, 11th January 2026, from Edale in the Peak District. This 268-mile non-stop, unsupported odyssey along the entire Pennine Way is a legendary beast, demanding 168 hours to traverse England's most formidable moorlands, dales, and mountains to Kirk Yetholm in Scotland. Battling winter's full ferocity—from deep snow to gale-force winds—runners face over 10,000 meters of ascent in a relentless pursuit that strips endurance down to raw mental fortitude and sheer survival instinct.

With only 150 coveted entries, this January 11th start marks your entry into an elite realm of adventure, where the breathtaking yet brutal landscape dictates the terms. It is far more than a race; it's a transformative winter expedition where every checkpoint is a lifeline and every step etches a deeper understanding of human limits amidst Britain’s most savage and beautiful wilderness.
