Millevaches Monédières Raidlight Trail

The Trail des Millevaches Monédières is a prominent trail running event scheduled for Saturday, April 25, 2026, departing from the medieval town of Treignac, Corrèze. Set within the Millevaches Regional Natural Park in Limousin, the courses offer full immersion into the wild landscapes of the Monédières, characterized by heather moors and panoramic views of the Massif Central. The flagship race, the Alain Mimoun Olympic Trail, pays tribute to the legendary Olympic marathon champion who lived in Corrèze, providing a technical 57 km challenge across the iconic peaks of the massif.

Treignac is a commune in the Corrèze department of the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region, with a population of approximately 750 residents. It is recognized as one of the "Most Beautiful Detours in France" and a "Small Town of Character." The local population is primarily rural, with an economy centered on green tourism and craftsmanship. The median annual household income in the area is approximately €20,000. Geographically, Treignac sits at the foot of the Monédières and is crossed by the Vézère River, famous for its world-class canoeing and kayaking routes. In late April, the climate on the Millevaches plateau remains cool, with average temperatures ranging from 5°C (41°F) in the morning to 16°C (61°F) in the afternoon. Humidity and wind on the exposed ridges can quickly increase the chill factor for runners on the longer distances.

Bib collection takes place at the Treignac village hall starting Friday afternoon, April 24, as well as on Saturday morning before the starts. In addition to the competitive races, a 14 km hike is open to companions and walkers, offering a chance to discover the local natural heritage at a more peaceful pace. The event is coordinated by OK-time, and registrations are available online. This trail is renowned for its friendly atmosphere and environmental respect, encouraging participants to responsibly manage their waste on the fragile trails of the Limousin region.
