Midnight Madness 5k

Step into the festive spirit of Sugar House Park as you participate in the "Beat the New Year" race, an exhilarating run that starts every five minutes from 11:15 PM to 11:40 PM on December 31, 2026. This unique event offers runners a chance to cross the finish line before midnight and receive a special award for their efforts. The route winds through Sugar House Park's serene paths, offering a peaceful backdrop as you sprint towards your goal.
The race supports Friends in Need Animal Sanctuary, an organization dedicated to providing loving homes for various animals including chickens, ducks, pigs, alpacas, and more. They foster volunteer opportunities that contribute to animal care, sustainable agriculture, and community enrichment through environmentally responsible practices.
Post-race festivities include light refreshments as participants gather to celebrate their achievement in the heart of Sugar House Park. Packet pick-up begins at 10:30 PM, with pre-registration available for $35 until December 20th (guaranteeing a race t-shirt on event day), and day-of registration priced at $40.
