The Merewether Mile is a fast-paced, point-to-point road race scheduled for Sunday, May 10, 2026, along the stunning coastline of Newcastle, New South Wales. The event takes runners on a 1-mile journey from the Bar Beach Carpark to a festive finish precinct at Dixon Park. Known for its competitive edge and community atmosphere, the race features elite categories with prize money for top male and female finishers, alongside general entry waves for runners of all abilities. The finish area serves as a hub for recovery, music, and sponsor activations, making it a focal point for local spectators and athletes alike.

Newcastle is the second-most-populated area in New South Wales, with a regional population of approximately 322,000 residents. The coastal suburb of Bar Beach is one of the city's most affluent areas, with a demographic profile that is roughly 82% Australian-born, featuring a median household income of approximately A$125,000. Geographically, the race follows Memorial Drive, offering panoramic views of the Pacific Ocean.
