Mental Health Matters: Walk/Run for Awareness

About the Event

Join All Souls Counseling Center on Saturday, September 20th at The University of North Carolina - Asheville's campus for a day of fresh air, exercise, and music. The Mental Health Matters Walk/Run for Awareness is a family-friendly 5k hosted by All Souls Counseling Center (ASCC). The purpose of this event is to raise awareness of the mental health resources available in our community and help to end the stigma around seeking help. Mental Health Matters is a public forum for normalizing conversations around mental health struggles so that all of us who need help can more easily access a qualified professional for support. The event will feature a community resource fair with representatives from many wellness and mental health organizations in WNC. In addition to being active, come out to learn about some of the mental health and supportive resources available in WNC.

There will be two course options available:

  1. Walk or Run around UNCA's Karl Straus Track

  2.  Walk or Run route on UNCA's campus (approximately 5k)

This event is free to participants ages 22 and under. Early bird registration is $15 from July 1st through August 9th and will be $20 from August 10th to September 20th. Every participant who registers will receive an event t-shirt! All proceeds from MENTAL HEALTH MATTERS: Walk/Run for Awareness will be donated to All Souls Counseling Center. Registration fees are non-refundable and this event is rain or shine.
