The Meia Maratona da Polícia Federal do Maranhão has become one of the most anticipated sporting events on Brazil's national calendar, drawing thousands of athletes each year to celebrate the founding anniversary of the Federal Police. Returning to São Luís for its 2026 edition, this event is part of a larger circuit that spans several Brazilian states including Rio Grande do Norte, Tocantins, Piauí, and the Distrito Federal. This year's race includes traditional distances such as 5 km, 10 km, and 21 km, alongside new additions like the Kids+ category for children aged 10 to 13. The event promises a full-scale infrastructure with robust security measures in place, ensuring an unforgettable experience for both participants and spectators. The Corrida Kids remains one of the highlights, designed specifically to foster early interest in sports among young ones while providing a safe and joyful environment where every child feels like a champion. Participants will receive exclusive medals upon completion, celebrating their effort and fun regardless of age or distance covered. The race is divided into different starting lines based on age groups: 2-5 years (100 meters), 6-7 years (200 meters), 8-9 years (400 meters), and 10-13 years (600 meters). This ensures that every child has an appropriate challenge tailored to their capabilities.
