Meghan's Run 5K

The Meghan's Run 5K is a memorial athletic event scheduled for Saturday, May 9, 2026, in the heart of Hyannis, Massachusetts. This 5K walk and run serves as the primary fundraiser for the Meghan Constance Moore Memorial Fund, which was established to honor the legacy of a dedicated student-athlete. The fund perpetually provides financial assistance through scholarships to graduating high school seniors across Cape Cod (Barnstable, Dukes, and Nantucket Counties) who demonstrate the same determination and hard work that defined Meghan's life. By participating, runners directly support the next generation of female student-athletes pursuing higher education at two- and four-year colleges.

Hyannis is the largest of the seven villages in the town of Barnstable, Massachusetts, often referred to as the "Capital of the Cape," with a population of approximately 14,500 residents. As a major tourist destination and transportation hub for Cape Cod, the village is famous for its proximity to the Kennedy Family Compound and its vibrant maritime culture. The demographic profile is roughly 65% White, 13% Black, 12% Hispanic, and 3% Asian, reflecting a more diverse year-round population than many other Cape villages. Michael K. Aselton Memorial Park, located on Ocean Street, provides a picturesque waterfront start for the race, situated steps away from the Hyannis Harbor and surrounded by the village's signature flowering hydrangea bushes and public art installations.

The race is managed by a dedicated Race Director, with registration available through the Race Roster platform. Beyond the local scholarships, the Meghan Constance Moore Memorial Fund also contributes $10,000 annually to New England College, where Meghan continued her hockey career.
