The 2025 edition of the McLaren Vale Marathon saw a new and exciting move to the heart of town. Showcasing the town’s charm and energy, the marathon enjoyed the bustling atmosphere of McLaren Vale and an awesome race day experience. All distances are now run 100% on sealed roads with around 130m of elevation change over the half marathon course, and 260m for the marathon – beautiful, runner-friendly courses through the vines with a bustling town centre finish line. Our race day schedule is designed to be family-friendly and keep the atmosphere & energy pumping through to the final finisher! The McLaren Vale Marathon, half marathon, 10K & 5K courses have been officially certified by AIMS and World Athletics. This means that your race will be run on a precisely measured course — giving you full confidence you’re hitting the correct distance. Even better? Your finish time can now be used to qualify for marathons around the world, including the World Marathon Majors! So whether you’re chasing a first time finish, personal best, a BQ, or your ticket to the global stage — McLaren Vale is your next stop!
