Mayrhofen Ultraks Zillertal 2027

The Mayrhofen Ultraks Zillertal is set to captivate trail runners with its diverse and challenging courses through one of Austria's most stunning alpine landscapes. Scheduled for September 3rd, 2027, the event offers a range of distances suitable for all levels of experience.
For those seeking an epic adventure, the Z101+ route presents over 101 kilometers of high-altitude trails through the Zillertal Alps. This grueling course includes climbs totaling 7,600 meters and reaches its highest point at a breathtaking 3,123 meters above sea level near Schönbichler Horn. Runners will traverse historic mountain refuges and enjoy views that stretch across both Austrian and Italian territory.
The TUX070 distance offers an equally impressive challenge in the Tux Alps. Starting from the Gletscherbahnen Hintertux, runners face initial darkness as they ascend to Frauenwand under headlamps before sunrise reveals panoramic mountain vistas. The route continues over the Tuxerjoch and down to Mayrhofen's town center.
The RK50 course is a scenic journey through some of the most picturesque terrain in Zillertal, including the Rastkogel peak with its sweeping views. This 50-kilometer race winds along ridge trails from Penkenplateaus and includes visits to charming mountain huts like the Gasthof Roswitha before descending into Mayrhofen.
The MUZ30 offers a more manageable yet still challenging distance of 30 kilometers, leading runners up to the Penkenjoch and then down through Katzenmoos. The course showcases stunning alpine vistas on the Penken plateau and concludes with an emotional finish through the heart of Mayrhofen.
For those looking for something shorter but no less exciting, the MUZ14 is a 14-kilometer route that starts directly from Mayrhofen's village center. This course features varied terrain including ascents to Wiesenhof and technical sections leading back into town.
The new addition this year, the Mountopolis Vertical, challenges runners with an intense uphill climb of over 8 kilometers and a vertical ascent of 1,250 meters up to Penkenbahn mountain station. Starting from Mayrhofen's town hall, participants will face steep ascents leading through scenic alpine areas.
Finally, the Sprint course is perfect for newcomers or those looking for an exhilarating introduction to trail running. At just 7 kilometers long and looping around central Mayrhofen towards Brandberg, this route offers a mix of uphill climbs and fast downhills before finishing in front of enthusiastic spectators at Europahaus.
Each race promises not only breathtaking scenery but also the vibrant atmosphere of a dedicated community of runners celebrating their passion for trail running. With stunning mountain vistas, challenging terrain, and supportive crowds, Mayrhofen Ultraks Zillertal is an event that every runner should experience.
