Maratona do Algarve

The Algarve Marathon invites runners of all levels to experience Portugal's sunny coast on December 6, 2026. Starting and finishing at Marina de Vilamoura, participants will traverse certified courses along the picturesque coastline between Vilamoura, Quarteira, and Loulé. The event features a full marathon (42.195 km), half marathon (21.097 km), 10K run, and a scenic 5K walk, all under the watchful eye of live television coverage.
Runners will enjoy mild December temperatures while taking in breathtaking coastal views and soaking up Algarve’s warm atmosphere. The race expo at the marina offers an opportunity to meet fellow runners and explore local offerings before or after the event. Organized by GlobalSport, known for events like the Europe Marathon and Douro Valley Half Marathon, this inaugural edition aims to draw over 10,000 participants from across Europe, creating a vibrant community of athletes celebrating their running season in sunny Portugal.
