MARA SWIM 2026

Swimmers of all levels are warmly invited to the third annual Mara Swim 2026, an eagerly anticipated aquatic adventure set against the stunning backdrop of Slovakia. This year’s event promises excitement and beauty as participants take on a unique course that has been slightly altered from previous years.
The swim will commence at Maladinova Beach, where swimmers will navigate their way across to the opposite shore and return, covering a total distance of 3.8 kilometers. While this route is part of Liptov’s renowned marathon circuit, it offers a more compact version that retains all its charm and challenges without requiring multiple laps or bus transfers.
Participants can park at designated spots near Maladinova Beach; however, if these spaces are full, there will be ample parking available just next door at Tatralandia. Swimmers must have the physical capability to complete this course in approximately two hours, with a swimming speed of around 2 kilometers per hour being necessary.
The event features an obligatory swim vest (bojka) for safety reasons, and swimmers are encouraged to wear wetsuits if they wish. The organizers emphasize that participants should arrive prepared to enjoy the day’s festivities while adhering to the established guidelines.
Registration is required by submitting a start package fee along with your application form. Should adverse weather conditions arise on race day, the event may be postponed until the following year; however, all fees will automatically roll over for participation in next year's edition without penalty.
The schedule includes check-in from 7:30 to 9:00 AM followed by a brief course overview and equipment inspection. Swimmers are then set to take off between 9:30 and 11:30 AM, with continuous refreshments provided throughout the event. For those who complete their swim successfully, there will be awards for the top three finishers in each category.
Participants under eighteen years of age must have a signed consent form from a legal guardian to participate. All swimmers are advised to carefully review and sign the honor code statement upon pick-up of their start package.
The event is organized by the Slovak Association of Long Distance Swimming (SADP) and promises not only an engaging swim but also a memorable day out in nature with fellow enthusiasts.
