Malvern Midsummer Marathon

Colwall, Malvern. The Malvern Hills. Midsummer. The Malvern Midsummer Marathon returns on Saturday, June 20, 2026, starting from Colwall Village Hall (Mill Ln, Malvern WR13 6EQ). 27‑mile route (approx 5,000 ft ascent, 4 checkpoints) and 15‑mile route (2 checkpoints). Clockwise route — common first half, then the marathon route continues while the short route heads back to HQ. Walkers and runners separate: 27‑mile walkers 8:00 AM, 27‑mile runners 9:00 AM; 15‑mile walkers 9:15 AM, 15‑mile runners 9:30 AM. Finish by 8:00 PM. Hot meal and pudding at the finish. Bring your own mug — no cups at checkpoints or finish. Certificates and badges for all finishers. Event is now FULL — waiting list only (18 waiting).

Route Details — Clockwise, Shared First Half:

• Both routes share the first half: Cradley, Mathon, Colwall, and Evendine
• 27‑mile route continues to Oyster Hill, Ledbury, Bromsberrow, then joins the main ridge from British Camp after the northern Malverns
• The long route includes all of the Malvern Hills — Worcestershire Beacon, North Hill, Jubilee Hill, and British Camp (Herefordshire Beacon)
• 15‑mile route turns back earlier: End Hills to Black Hill
• Terrain: tracks and paths, steep in sections (typical Malvern climbs), some road sections

Event Format — Walkers and Runners Separate Starts:

• 27‑mile walkers: 8:00 AM
• 27‑mile runners: 9:00 AM
• 15‑mile walkers: 9:15 AM
• 15‑mile runners: 9:30 AM
• All participants must finish by 8:00 PM (Village Hall cleared by 8:30 PM)

Checkpoints — Snacks, Drinks, Toilets:

• 27‑mile route: 4 checkpoints
• 15‑mile route: 2 checkpoints
• Checkpoints have a variety of snacks and drinks (water, squash, cakes, biscuits, fruit, etc.)
• No cups at checkpoints or finish — bring your own mug

• Parking available near Colwall Village Hall (arrive early — limited spaces)
• Public transport: Colwall railway station (Hereford‑Great Malvern line) is within walking distance
• No dogs allowed on the challenge
• Walkers and runners of all abilities welcome — but you must be able to complete within the time limit (8:00 PM cutoff)
