Embark on the ultimate island crossing at MIUT® (Madeira Island Ultra Trail), a legendary journey that takes you from the volcanic pools of Porto Moniz to the historic bay of Machico. While the 2026 date is to be announced, this World Trail Major event is a benchmark in the global ultra-trail calendar, challenging runners with 115km and over 7,100m of elevation gain across Madeira's rugged peaks and UNESCO-listed Laurissilva forest. More than a race, it's an immersive experience where you'll traverse ancient levadas, conquer epic climbs to Pico Ruivo, and witness the nesting grounds of the rare Zino's Petrel. Since 2008, MIUT® has pioneered sustainable trail running, deeply committed to preserving the very landscapes that make this adventure so unforgettable.
