About the Event

Experience Chattanooga's legendary 5 Points 50, an annual mountain bike festival that has been captivating riders since its inception. This year’s race spans Lula Lake Land Trust and Cloudland Canyon State Park trail systems across Lookout Mountain, offering a challenging yet rewarding journey for both competitive racers and casual cyclists.
The event kicks off on Saturday at the picturesque Lula Lake Land Trust's Core Preserve with an exhilarating descent into Durham Mine Trails. Riders will then navigate through 5 Points before heading back to the start via the Cloudland Connector Trail and Moonshine Trails, ensuring a diverse mix of single track, climbs, downhills, rock gardens, and smooth flowy sections.
Two distance options cater to all skill levels: the grueling 50-mile course with over 3,500 feet of elevation gain or the more manageable 25-mile route with approximately 2,300 feet. Both courses offer breathtaking views and a memorable ride through some of Chattanooga’s most scenic landscapes.
Racers can expect a race party that begins post-race at noon, featuring live music, kids’ activities, food, and beer. Spectators are welcome on Saturday for free admission; camping is available with just a ticket purchase. The event also includes various fun activities like an obstacle course, track stand competition, mini-bike time trial, Huck-a-Huffy contest, and more.
For those simply looking to enjoy the trails at their own pace without racing, the Party Pace category offers a leisurely experience. Riders in this group will not receive race bibs or be timed but must complete by 4:30 PM ET. Partner Teams must ride together from start to finish, with each member required to purchase an individual ticket.
Drop Bar and E-Bike Open categories are also available, ensuring that all types of bikes can participate safely. The event is a fundraiser for Lula Lake Land Trust, supporting trail building and maintenance efforts on Lookout Mountain.
Included in the race package are custom 5 Points 50 t-shirts (for pre-registered participants) and post-race refreshments like beer and food. Aid stations will be strategically placed along both courses with water, snacks, and Tailwind to keep riders fueled throughout their journey.
The timeline for Saturday is packed from early morning check-in at 7:00 AM ET until the race party wraps up by evening. Specific aid station locations are marked clearly on course tapes; the GPX files provided serve as references but should not be relied upon entirely due to potential inaccuracies in mileage and elevation data.
Participants must adhere strictly to race rules, particularly regarding drop bags which need to be dropped off before 8:00 AM ET at check-in.
