Scheduled for October 18, 2026, the Fourth Annual Wu Hu Shan Mountain Race will take place at Century Garden Hotel located on the western embankment of the Wu Hu Shan Reservoir in Jinan City. This event is part of the Qilu Trail League and offers a variety of challenging courses to cater to different levels of runners.
The race features four distinct categories: an exclusive 40-kilometer (actual distance 38.5km) trail run, a competitive 24-kilometer course, as well as two shorter options for families and individuals – both at the 10-kilometer mark. The event accommodates up to 1,100 participants on a first-come-first-served basis until all spots are filled.
The elite 40km route winds through rugged terrain with an elevation gain of 1527 meters over nine hours, promising breathtaking views and technical challenges for seasoned trail runners. The slightly shorter but equally demanding 24-kilometer course offers a cumulative ascent of 847 meters across six hours, providing ample opportunity to explore the scenic beauty while pushing physical limits.
For those looking for something less intense yet rewarding, both the individual and family-friendly 10km options offer nearly identical routes with an elevation gain of around 338 meters. Participants in these shorter races will experience a mix of trails and paths that showcase the natural splendor of Wu Hu Shan while enjoying ample time to appreciate the surroundings.
The event kicks off at 8:00 AM on race day, allowing runners to immerse themselves in the serene mountain environment. The various courses offer different cutoff times ranging from four hours for the individual 10km route up to nine hours for the longer trail run.
Early bird discounts are available until September 5th, providing an incentive for those eager to secure their spot and take advantage of discounted entry fees before spaces fill up quickly.
