Love Luton is thrilled to announce the return of Runfest, set for October 11th, 2026. This year’s edition will feature familiar favorites such as the 5k, 10k, and half marathon courses, which have remained unchanged since last year based on participant feedback. The event kicks off in Luton's bustling town center and takes runners through award-winning parks and along traffic-free routes that ensure a safe and enjoyable race experience. The half-marathon route will see Hatterts Way closed to vehicular traffic for added safety, allowing participants to enjoy the scenic busway without any interruptions. All finishers can look forward to receiving a commemorative medal upon crossing the line. In addition, top male and female finishers in each age category from 40-75+ will receive awards along with first-place overall winners. The Danny McCormack Memorial Young Person’s trophy will also be awarded as it has been for many years. Three local charities—Keech Hospice Care, Luton & Dunstable Hospital Charity, and Tuff2Talk CIC—are the beneficiaries of this year's Runfest. These organizations provide essential support in end-of-life care, hospital services, and mental health awareness within the community. Participants can show their support by making a donation at checkout; every contribution helps to sustain these vital services. Racegoers have the opportunity to purchase official event T-shirts through an easy online process, with shirts available for collection on race day from registration booths. Runfest promises not only competitive races but also a chance to contribute positively to the community and support local causes. Join us in Luton for a memorable running experience that benefits everyone involved.

About Luton
Learn more about the host city, Luton.
Luton is a large town in Bedfordshire, some 35 mi (56 km) north of London. It's a multicultural town with a population of about 200,000. It used to have a straw and hat-making trade, hence "The Hatters" nickname of Luton football club; a couple of factories remain along the Old Bedford Road. Luton later produced Vauxhall cars and Whitbread beers, but little of these remain. Most people only come here for London Luton Airport, a major hub for budget & charter flights. The airport is described below but the focus of this page is the town itself.
