Lone Star Night Run

The Lone Star Night Run offers runners and ruckers an enchanting evening adventure through Lake Mineral Wells State Park's Trailway in North Texas on September 4, 2027. Participants can choose from distances of 5K, 10K, or Half Marathon along a soft fine gravel trail that winds its way out and back to the Weatherford Trailhead. The course is relatively flat with slight inclines, making it ideal for night runners who enjoy scenic views under starlight.
As evening temperatures hover around 75-85 degrees Fahrenheit, participants will be required to use headlamps as they navigate through this picturesque setting. For ruck enthusiasts, weight requirements vary based on individual body weights: those weighing more than 150 lbs must carry a minimum of 30 lbs, while lighter runners should aim for at least 20 lbs.
The event features water refill stations along the route and food trucks awaiting racers upon their return to the finish line. Overflow parking is available at Cartwright Park soccer fields with shuttles running from 6:30 PM onwards to transport participants to the start/finish area. Race day activities kick off early, with packet pickup beginning at 6:30 PM and race starts promptly at 8:30 PM.
All finishers will receive a Lone Star Night Runs Tri-Blend T-shirt and a commemorative medal, while ruck competitors can earn an exclusive patch to add to their collection. The event also includes awards for first-place male and female runners as well as the coveted "Dead Freakin' Last" award in the Half Marathon category.
