Lincoln Running Co Mile - 2026

The Lincoln Running Co Mile - 2026 returns to the streets of Lincoln, Nebraska on July 12th. This event is a morning celebration with age group heats starting at 8:00am and running every 15 minutes until all heats are completed.
The race venue is along Broadway Street in historic downtown Lincoln, adjacent to Pershing Park where runners gather before the start line. The area offers a vibrant atmosphere on race mornings; early risers can enjoy morning coffee from local cafes and explore the nearby shops while waiting for their heat time. As participants head out onto the course, they will run through the heart of the city, passing by familiar landmarks such as Old City Hall.
The Lincoln Mile has been running since 2016, making it a beloved event in the community. Each year, over 300 runners participate across various age groups and abilities. The race supports local charities and scholarships, contributing to the betterment of the city's youth through sports and education. This tradition ensures that the Lincoln Mile remains an important part of the summer calendar.
The course covers a challenging 1 mile or 1.6 kilometers for adults, with elite heats running after all other groups have finished their races. Kids can participate in the fun Kid’s Grand Prix race as well. The route starts and finishes at Pershing Park, passing through downtown streets that are hard and dry due to the typical July weather conditions.
On race day, temperatures will range from a minimum of 20.1°C to a maximum of 30.4°C with an expected feel like around 25.2°C.
