Discover the unique lunar landscape of the Loos-en-Gohelle slag heaps at the **Trail des Terrils on Sunday, March 22, 2026**. Organized by the association Les Foulées des écoles, this convivial event invites runners to explore the iconic 11/19 site—a former mining complex transformed into a breathtaking natural playground. Two trail distances await: "La 11" covers approximately 11km with 250m of positive gain, while "La 19" stretches to 19km with 500m of ascent, both departing together at 9:15am from rue de Bourgogne.
Three non‑competitive foulées of 500m, 1km, and 2km welcome children and casual participants to join the fun without timing pressure. The event embodies the association's motto of running in a group, in complete conviviality, for the pleasure of sharing effort together. All proceeds support local causes—previous editions have raised funds for Tessa's family, Le Combat de Suzie, and Les Amis d'Isaac.
