Last Friday of the Month 5k

Join us on October 30, 2026, for the Last Friday of the Month 5K race in Hyde Park. Organized by volunteers from Serpentine Running and Triathlon Club, this monthly event offers runners a scenic course around the northern side of the Serpentine lake.
The race starts promptly at 12:30 PM near the Boat House, with participants gathering for pre-race preparations starting at noon. The route is carefully mapped to ensure safety and accuracy under UK Athletics rules. With a cut-off time of 35 minutes, runners must complete their laps within this timeframe to be eligible for results.
Entry fees are £7 for members affiliated with England Athletics or any running club registered in the country, while unaffiliated participants pay £9. Online registration is mandatory; day-of-race entries will not be accepted due to Royal Parks regulations. Please note that refunds are only issued under exceptional circumstances at the discretion of the Club’s Committee.
Participants should arrive wearing their race numbers clearly visible on the front of their clothing for easy identification by officials throughout the event. Safety guidelines advise against using headphones during the run, as runners must remain aware of marshals' instructions and surroundings to ensure everyone's safety.
Hyde Park offers limited facilities near the Bandstand, approximately 500 meters from the start line—public toilets are available but require card payment at a cost of 20p. No changing or showering areas will be provided around the race site; runners should plan accordingly and arrive in their running attire. Valuables left unattended by the starting area do so at your own risk.
Post-race refreshments can be purchased from nearby establishments, such as the Serpentine Bar and Kitchen located close to the start/finish line or various kiosks within Hyde Park. Note that water will not be provided along the course; runners are advised to bring their hydration supplies if needed.
Medical advice is essential for those unsure of their fitness level before participating in a 5K run. The race organizers recommend consulting with your doctor beforehand and completing any necessary medical information on the back of your race number, which includes emergency contact details.
Race results will be published online via the Serpentine website shortly after the event concludes. These results may include personal data such as names, club affiliations (if applicable), race times, and age categories for statistical purposes shared with governing bodies and affiliated organizations.
