The Last Class Bash is a high-speed sprint event marking the conclusion of the 2025-2026 harness dog sports season. Scheduled for Saturday, May 2, 2026, the event takes place on the Petitcodiac Dykeland walking trails in Hillsborough, New Brunswick. Sanctioned and insured by the Maritime Association of Harness Dog Sports (MAHDS), the race features various disciplines where athletes compete alongside their canine partners in a series of "super sprint" categories.

The geography of the course is defined by the Petitcodiac Dykelands, offering a flat and highly runnable landscape. The 2km route is specifically designed for speed, featuring a mix of crusher dust, gravel, and dirt surfaces. This non-technical terrain includes wide wooden bridges but lacks significant obstacles, making it ideal for high-velocity disciplines. In early May, New Brunswick typically sees cool spring temperatures with average highs around 12°C (54°F). Because harness dog sports are highly sensitive to heat, the organizers strictly enforce MAHDS Temperature Guidelines to ensure the safety of the canine athletes.
Logistically, the event is headquartered near the trail parking lot for streamlined sign-in and starting. Registration is conducted exclusively in advance via Race Roster, with a firm deadline of April 29, 2026. To maintain a quiet and professional atmosphere for the dogs, all briefings and start lists are communicated digitally prior to the race day. Participants are required to follow the MAHDS Code of Conduct and specific gear requirements for their chosen sport. The relay category remains a highlight of the season finale, requiring distinct dogs for each leg and seamless transitions between human teammates.
